Camel races are one of the best sports exciting frolic and fun at Pushkar Fair. The event of camel race is elaborate. The beast with hunch is decorated ornately. The beasts then run with vigor for the race. The camel race has an event similar to musical chair. Here in this event the camel has to stick its neck, which is long between two poles. The camel owners guide their camels with silken cords, which are attached to the nose rings of the camels.

Now is the time for the entertaining event of beauty contest, but not of men or women but of camels. The camels are bejeweled and bedecked, who come for the contest. The camels are brought into the ring and the beauties paraded before the judges to pass through the critical eyes of the judges. The criteria to get selected are :

Another event is “ laadoo oonth” in which the capacity of the camel to carry weight is judged. This event is thrilling as men mount on the crumpled back of the camel, holding each other to retain balance and to maintain the wobbly position.
