Among the most popular Udaipur attractions, the City Palace heads the list. The City Palace was built by Maharana Udai Singh. Earlier it was a small one but was later extended to its present state. The architecture is marvelous and the decorations on the palaces are extremely intricate. The carvings on the palace walls are the result of local talent with influence of Mughal style. The beauty of the City Palace is all the more enhanced by the Lake Pichola that is beside the palace. The Pratap Museum located in City Palace has the relics and artifacts of the rulers. Another Udaipur attractions is the Lake Palace that was earlier known as the Jag Niwas. The palace is now a luxury hotel but was owned by the Sisodia Rulers of Udaipur. The palace is breathtakingly beautiful and is made of marble. The City Palace is located in the middle of the lake and the Aravalli Hills form the backdrop of the palace.
